Great composition... I really like how this one looks. Reminds me of a nightmare or dream in which the dreamer is seeing everything from a "god" point of view. I could go out on a limb and interpret it, too. The earth as the iris strikes me as an inner attitude or state of being. The man is scared to look at the earth below him, possibly because of the strife and pain (symbollized by the crucifix on what would otherwise be peaceful terrain), but he is still human, an inhabitant of this earth and privvy to the same damnable flaws and mistakes as the rest of humanity.

It saddens me to think of what a terrible reputation so many people have given the world's population and life. In some otherworldly alien council, I wonder if they are as shocked at the state of the world as that man's expression seems to depict.

Oh...my...wow.

There is so much I could say about this...I can read so much into this. First off, GREAT job on the merge here. Wonderful imagery, just wonderful. The shoulders of the person bring to mind mountains behind the hill, but I can't help wondering if it would look more stark without the shoulders because of that.

But anyway...here's my 'believing Christian' and 'raised Lutheran' read of this: it's speaks to me about the fascination we feel about the concept of anyone, much less God, giving his life for us in such a horrific way. Crucifixion is a terrible way to die, yet we can't help but peek out from behind our hands every time we remember what he did. We remind ourselves constantly, while at the same time never wanting to really think about the actual act, the actual crucifixion, death by suffocation, the nails.

This is great.
